It is recognised that many children do not express enthusiasm for After School Care programs. These services are often viewed primarily as childcare solutions, which may not provide significant educational benefits and sometimes lack the necessary quality of care.

Minerva Private Academy was created to enrich students' lives by providing a meaningful and holistic extension of their education in a safe, inspiring, and engaging space. Building a community where children can disconnect to connect, explore their interests in music, art, languages, and sports, and receive high-quality academic support all in one place.

At Minerva Private Academy, our mission is to make high-quality, holistic education accessible. As part of our commitment to community and inclusion, we’ve introduced budget-friendly pricing starting from just $15 per day.This includes study and homework assistance, languages, art and creativity, piano, guitar, music, music theory, culture, social studies, debating, workshops, seminars, sports and wellness classes, and recreational activities.

Our Founder, Bea, has held executive positions in education and understands first-hand the demands on working parents. Motivated by her own experience of missing precious afternoon moments with her child, Bea created Minerva as a meaningful solution, a nurturing, high quality environment where children are truly supported and enriched after school.

Together with a team of mothers, professionals, teachers and education leaders, all with distinguished backgrounds, the academy's framework has been thoughtfully designed with a strong focus on lifelong learning, student well-being, and holistic development.

To uphold the highest standards in education and care, our teachers and staff are selected through a rigorous recruitment process, which includes: comprehensive interviews, background checks and reference screening, police clearance and Blue Card certification, as well as verification of academic and professional qualifications.
 

Our team includes qualified teachers, experienced educators, and top university students, all chosen for their passion, skill, and alignment with Minerva’s values.

What sets us apart is that our founder is actively involved in the academy's day-to-day operations. She takes a hands-on approach, leading programs, mentoring staff, and being present with students to ensure that every child is seen, supported, and empowered.

To maintain exceptional quality and personal attention, we also strictly limit our enrolments, ensuring small group sizes and a warm, safe, and responsive learning environment.

Once we receive your child's application, we will invite your child and family for an interview. We provide a 'walking pick up service'* from several local schools, including Boys & Girls Grammar School, St Joseph's College, Brisbane Central State School, and St James College. This service involves collecting students and walking them to Minerva Private Academy. Transportation by car is not offered. Parents may consider establishing a buddy system or organising a pooled drop-off. Additionally, appointing an older student to accompany their children to Minerva is also an option.

We provide nutritious, high-quality food for our students. Afternoon tea for our afternoon programs can be pre-ordered for only $5.00. For the school holiday programs, both morning and afternoon teas are available starting at $5.00 each per day.

We recognise the importance of giving children time to unwind. Students can participate in various free activities until 3.45 pm, which helps them relax and recharge. We also ensure they have the chance to prepare for their classes, and enjoy nutritious afternoon meals in our dining room.

Our timetable is released every Sunday for the following week. Parents have the entire week to choose activities and classes in advance. Only classes with a minimum of eight participants will proceed. If a class is fully booked, you will be placed on a waiting list. We offer three to four activities per hour to ensure a wide range of options that cater to your child's interests. The more students we have enrolled, the greater the variety of activities we can provide.

Our school holiday programs are thoughtfully designed and provide a variety of engaging, creative, and intellectually stimulating activities throughout the day, including sports, wellness, arts and crafts, and academic pursuits. These activities are specifically created to foster social skills and emotional intelligence, ignite curiosity, stimulate the mind, and promote overall well-being. Children have the opportunity to disconnect from devices and connect with others, forming lasting friendships and exploring their interests.
